About
I believe that psychotherapy offers more than relief from symptoms. It offers an opportunity to understand ourselves more deeply, recognize longstanding emotional patterns, and create meaningful, lasting change. While people often begin treatment because of anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or a persistent sense of feeling stuck, these challenges can also become a starting point for greater self-understanding and growth.
My approach is grounded in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. I believe that lasting change begins not with finding quick answers, but with becoming curious about parts of ourselves that are difficult to know. In psychotherapy, we make room for thoughts and feelings that may have been difficult to recognize, name, or think about before. Over time, that process can open the possibility of living with greater freedom and vitality.
I am a board-certified psychiatrist with advanced training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy through the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute (BPSI). I completed my residency in adult psychiatry and fellowship in consultation-liaison psychiatry at Columbia University, where I developed a lasting interest in the relationship between emotional and physical health. My clinical experience spans outpatient, inpatient, and consultation-liaison psychiatry, giving me a broad perspective on the many ways emotional and physical suffering intersect.
As both a psychiatrist and psychoanalytic psychotherapist, I offer in-depth psychotherapy, psychiatric consultation, and medication management when appropriate. My goal is to tailor treatment to each individual’s needs while fostering a collaborative relationship that supports curiosity, emotional growth, and lasting psychological change.
